Michael Shavelle grew up in Los Angeles, CA, where he trained at the Colburn School. He has trained on scholarship at summer programs at the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. He has performed principal roles in Balanchine's Mozartiana, Elegié, and Divertimento No. 15, Robbin's Goldberg Variations, and Cunningham's Changing Steps, as well as originated several new works by Silas Farley. Michael is a freshman in Columbia College studying English.
