Sandy Zeng trained at International Ballet Theater Academy, a small school in suburbs outside of Philadelphia. There, she studied classical ballet using the Vaganova technique and developed a great appreciation for Russian ballet. She has danced in ballets such as The Nutcracker, Paquita, Giselle, and Coppélia, as well as contemporary pieces choreographed by Viktor Plotnikov. She has also competed and won recognition in competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix and World Ballet Competition. Since coming to Columbia, Sandy has been able to work with choreographers and companies such as Claudia Schreier, Stefano Nappi, Ballet Next, Xaoc Ballet, and performed in the Brooklyn Ballet Festival.
